Introduction
The Child and Youth Care (CYCC) certificate prepares students to work with at-risk children, youth and their families. Students learn how to make a difference in the life of a child or adolescent who may have suffered abuse, neglect, addiction, family breakdown or who may have behavioural or learning difficulties.This program provides you with the skills and knowledge to work with children and youth experiencing behavioural and emotional difficulties.
You will learn how to intervene and assess situations and formulate strategies to help children, youth, and their families identify and resolve concerns and enhance their quality of life,The program covers the dynamics of human development within a multicultural perspective. Courses include child and adolescent development, special issues affecting child and youth care, and care for children who have emotional or behavioural difficulties.
